Hello everyone!
I’m so excited to have Aleigha Israel on my blog today for an interview as part of her blog tour for her new book, A Marvellous Redeemer.
Hi Aleigha. When did you start writing with the hope of becoming an author?
I can’t even remember the first time I started writing. I’ve been writing for as long as I can remember! The first time I actually realized that I could publish my writing, and truly become an author, was probably when I was around 15. I published my first poetry book soon after that!
What is A Marvelous Redeemer about?
A Marvelous Redeemer is a story of faith, courage, and God’s unfailing love. It’s a story that follows the life of two young believers as they travel through their own unique journeys, each one searching for something different. But each character discovers the same outcome. We serve an amazing, miraculous, marvelous Redeemer.
See the synopsis below to learn more!
She knew the decision would change her life. But she didn’t know she’d have to fight to survive.
When Amira put her faith in Christ, she knew life wouldn’t be easy. But hiding her conversion from her Muslim family soon becomes the least of her worries.
Forced to leave the only home she’s ever known, she travels to the island of Gabeburough, trying her best to make a fresh start.
Two escaped convicts and a treasure map. A leafy paradise that becomes her home. Amira begins to wonder, where is her Redeemer when she needs Him the most?
Caleb Haddington is prince of Carpathia. Life should be perfect, but he can’t get a certain dark-haired girl out of his mind. Amira was his best friend when he lived in France, but her letters to him have suddenly stopped. Her last letter is filled with terror that her faith will soon be discovered.
Only a single hope keeps him alive; when the time is right, he’s going after her. He’ll bring her back and prove to the kingdom that he’s a man.
But the journey proves to be more perilous than he’d ever imagined. Ridicule, comfortless days and the threat of a hurricane are just the start of his problems. Lying becomes easy for Caleb until his own life crumbles before him.
Brought to his knees under the pressure of his actions, he comes to realize the sweetness of his Savior. Forgiveness, grace, and mercy are granted fully to those who ask.
Caleb and Amira soon discover that they don’t just serve a gracious Savior, but a wonderful, magnificent, marvelous Redeemer.
What inspired A Marvelous Redeemer?
I always knew that I wanted to learn more about Amira! Amira was first introduced in the first book in the trilogy “A Higher Ransom.” Amira’s life has a special uniqueness about it. I just knew that her story would need to be told some day!
What do you want readers to gain from your book?
That no matter what, no matter how many times you stumble, no matter how many people try to tell you that God will never forgive you, always remember this; we serve a Marvelous Redeemer. A Redeemer that gave His very LIFE so that you could be saved! He loves you, He cares for you, you are His. So, remember that and don’t ever let it go.
Have you written any other books and where can we get them?
Yes, I have! I’ve published six other books. Three poetry books, a devotional book titled “Hidden Treasures” and then the other two books in “A Light for Christ” trilogy.
You can find my books through my website: ALEIGHACISRAEL.COM, on Amazon, through Grace and Truth Books, or online at Barnes & Noble.
Which country would you love to visit?
Just one?! I’d love to visit France someday. Because that’s Queen Anna’s hometown, it was talked about quite a bit in the second book!
Which character was your favourite to write and why?
Hemlock. He’s such a sweet man! Okay, he’s an escaped convict, I’m not sure how “sweet” that really makes him. But, he’s got such a kind heart, (as you’ll soon discover!) and his knowledge of sea creatures is quite impressive. His character was definitely the most enjoyable to write! His personality kept my little siblings laughing!
Where can we connect with you?
I LOVE connecting with other writers and readers!!! I answer every email, message, and comment I ever receive. Those little interactions with others are what keep me going!
I post weekly on my blog: The Pen of the Writer
(www.thepenofthewriter.weebly.com)
And I upload some pretty neat games, trivia, events, and SO much more, on my official website! (ALEIGHACISRAEL.COM)
What tips do you have for young aspiring writers?
Don’t give up. (Oh, and join The Young Writer’s Workshop, if you can!)
No, really. As a young writer you WILL be told some point in your writing life that you don’t have what it takes to succeed. That you can’t pursue being an author as your ultimate goal. But don’t believe those lies. I was told by an editor that my first book needed at least seven years of work before I could let anyone read it. A year later, I published that book and have been consistently touched and blessed by the countless emails, reviews, and even a publisher who agreed to carry all of my novels!
You’ll get criticism, you’ll suffer from discouragement. Just don’t ever let it cause you to stop writing!
My first real blog post went by without a single comment. The blog post I had strived over, working until I got every point right. Did anyone even read it? I never knew. Until last week. Someone commented on that post, over a year old now, and thanked me for writing it. They said that it encouraged them so much that they were going to strive to grow stronger in their faith and get more involved in their church. Praise the Lord! So, you see, you never know how your words might impact someone’s life. So keep writing. Don’t ever stop. And seriously, join The Young Writer’s Workshop if you can! It changed my life and I know it will change yours!
