Writers Boosts: Cheerleader Sessions

Hello everyone!

Today, I wanted to introduce you to an amazing writers mentorship program called Cheerleader Sessions.

Cheerleader Sessions is run by Livy Lynn Jarmusch and Isabella Morganthal. They provide an hour’s Skype session , or a series of email correspondences, where you talk about your current writing/blogging journey in different areas, e.g. platform, novel writing, publishing etc.

They then discuss ways on how you can improve even more, and create a special PDF called The Game Plan, which is written differently for each individual depending on what they’ve discussed. The Game Plan gives you a step my step plan for each area on what to do.

What is brilliant about Cheerleaders Sessions is that you can book as many times as you want

I’ve known Livy and Bella for over a year now, and I can definitely say that I’ve been more motivated to write knowing that they have my back, whether it’s on Skype or simply just sending a random Insta DM.

So check them out here and I hope you will love these two ladies as much as I do ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

And definitely check them out on Instagram @cheerleadersessions for daily doses of inspiration- they’re currently going a series called 12 Days of Marketing, which is mainly geared towards writers, but I think any businessperson or creative will benefit from their tips๐Ÿ˜Š

Why did you Choose me? Book review

Hello everyone!

Today, in honour of National Adoption Month, I’ll be reviewing a children’s book that’s all about Adoption.

About the book

Most adoptive and foster children struggle at some point in their life with knowing who they are and where they belong. They want to ask questions, and parents need to be prepared with an answer that helps their child feel loved and secure.
After searching for adoption storybooks to read to her own adopted children, Katie Cruice Smith decided that there was a need for more books that parents could read at bedtime to connect with their adopted and fostered children.
In Why Did You Choose Me?, Katie Cruice Smith answers that question in a way that young children can understand. Drawing from her own experience as an adoptive mom to three children, Katie uses the questions her own children have asked to help them see there never really was a choiceโ€”she knew right away that they were hers.
With beautiful illustrations by artist Sarah Strickling Jones, Why Did You Choose Me? lovingly demonstrates the uniqueness that each child brings to a family.

My thoughts

I loved the pictures in this book and the poetry was so cute.

I definitely feel that this book is perfect to teach children about the reasons behind adoption.

Where to get this book:

You can buy the kindle version here

October 2018 Reflections and November 2018 Resolutions

Hello everyone!

Apologies for being absent so far this month, but these past few weeks have been crazy with exams, and now things are starting to settle down, sort of!

Last October, I went to Romania for a missions trip, which was amazing, and I’m hoping to share with you my experiences soon๐Ÿ˜Š

But for now, here are my goals’ report:

1.Do a creative reflection on Romania

Romania was amazing, and I think I’ll need to do something very special to remember that trip. I’ve started thinking of ideas, and I’ve decided to make it one of my New Year’s Resolutions for 2019 ๐Ÿ˜Š

2. Create a 5-10 minute stretch routine to do each day.

Yes, and I think I’m improving!

3. Write 5,000 words of devotionals

Yes! It was a challenge with everything being so busy this month, but I did it ๐Ÿ˜Š

4. Continue my composing project

I just need one more chord progression and a melody, then I’m done!

5. Choose 2 subjects to do really well in this term

I did, and I’ve improved so much already!

Now that it is already November, I’m going to share with you the goals that I have been working towards this month.

1. Finish and edit Relatable: Ruth, a mini project that I started last month.

2. Finish my grade 8 violin with a good mark.

3. Start creating a melody for my composing project.

4. Start some research for projects that I want to do next year.

5. Continue to learn Romanian along with my other languages.

How about you? How’s November bee so far?
