Author Tribute: Taylor Bennett

Taylor Bennett Author Tribute 2017

Hello everyone!
Today, I am introducing to the last, but certainly not the least, of authors who has influenced me this year.

About Taylor Bennett:

Taylor Bennett is the seventeen-year-old author of a contemporary YA series published by Mountain Brook Ink. The first book in the series, Porch Swing Girl, will be released in June of 2018.

Homeschooled since kindergarten, she is a proud homebody who suffers from the rare–yet always severe–case of wanderlust. Although she dreams of traveling to many different places, her favorite destination thus far (aside from her charming hometown in Oregon) is Lahaina, Hawaii.

Taylor was so enamored with this tropical town that she became determined to write about it, hence her novel Porch Swing Girl, the first in a series of books set in Hawaii.

A lover of literature since birth, Taylor found her love of writing fueled under the instruction of Andrew Pudewa and the other teachers at the Institute for Excellence in Writing.

When she isn’t writing, Taylor enjoys cooking, drawing, playing the violin on her church’s worship team, and editing articles for the Magnum Opus Magazine. She is a member of ACFW and OCW

My Tribute

Taylor, thank you so much for encouraging me to start and build a platform on social media, in particular Instagram,. I’ve suddenly found a way of being creative and having fun, instead of looking at social media as this annoying and scary problem. I’m really excited that your debut  book is coming out next year, and I look forward to seeing you, one of my heroes, progress as a writer.

Where to buy Taylor’s book

Taylor’s book isn’t out yet, but if you connect with her through her website, you’ll be alerted of when it does arrive.

Author Tribute: Rachelle Rea Cobb

Hello everyone!

Today, we are going to be looking at an author who loves words and so much, that she’s even written a book about them!

rachelle rea cobb

About Rachelle Rea Cobb

Rachelle Rea Cobb has history with words. She penned her first short story in middle school, her first novel right out of high school, and signed a three-book publishing contract right after college. Her Steadfast Love series (from WhiteFire Publishing) is the tale of a Catholic maiden entrenched in the Dutch Revolution–and the redheaded Protestant man who brings her to love and faith.

But Rachelle believes writing isn’t all heart and art; it’s structure and syntax, too. One of her favorite things to do is help others polish their own pages until they shine. She works with authors (traditional and self-published), ESL writers, students, and bloggers.

She lives in a seaside Southern town with her new husband, who shares the name of Rachelle’s first fictional hero—even though she hadn’t yet met her husband when she wrote three books about a man with the same first name! She drives a pick-up truck and is addicted to all the different kinds of Oreos

My Tribute:

Rachelle, from the moment I began reading your grammar guide Write Well, I suddenly knew that I wasn’t dreaming when I believed that grammar could be fun! Your boldness to explore the rest of the writing industry, and your funny/touching blog posts made me excited and intrigued of seeing myself edit other people’s works someday. After learning about you, I’ve had more fun editing my novel than before.   May more people be blessed by your romance books, your grammar book, and your editing services for years to come.

Where to buy Rachelle’s books:

Rachelle has a romance trilogy called Steadfast Love( cute huh?) which is available on Amazon both as an ebook and paperback.

Her book Write Well is only available on Kindle.

You can get them Here if you’re British Or Here is you’re American.

Note: For her trilogy Steadfast, she has her maiden name Rachelle Rea, and her married name for Write Well, due to the fact that she wrote her series before she got married( just to clear any confusion).

Where to connect with Rachelle:

You can connect with her on Her website .

Do you enjoy editing?

Author Tribute: C. R. Hedgcock

Hello everyone.

Today, I’m proud to introduce to you another inspirational author who was published in her teens.

About C. R. Hedgcock:

Caitlin R. Hedgcock is a Christian author who aspires to craft thrilling, family-friendly stories with a meaningful message. She lives in England’s picturesque county of Hertfordshire, and is happiest when playing in classical concerts, travelling with family and friends, stumbling across new story ideas, or tapping action sequences into her trusty laptop.

My Tribute:

Caitlin, as a writer, you’ve shown me how to make writing an adventure. Learning to spot the beauty of things around me came from your advice to young writers in The Rebelutions’ Young Writers Guidebook, and that’s really changed the way I write. Now, I’m finding excitement and beauty in places I had never thought of before. Your determination to create books for families has been so inspiring to me, and one day I hope to write stories that everyone in the family can enjoy. Thank you so much, and I pray that you will continue to keep writing and weaving the truth inside your stories.

Where to buy Caitlin’s books

Caitlin has written, and is still continuing to write, a series called Baker Family Adventures, with each book taking you to a different country as you follow the exciting journey of the Bakers, who even in their relaxing summer holidays end up running into more than they can handle with from snobby cousins to even spies!

As there are seven of them, you can find them here if you’re British or here if you’re American on Amazon, both as a paperback and an ebook.

Her latest book Hunting in the Highlands, unlike the previous six, is only available on Kindle at the moment. You can find it here if you’re British or here if you’re American.

Today, I’m so proud to introduce to you my mentor, who’s been coaching me with writing skills this autumn.

Image result for rachel coker

About Rachel Coker:

Rachel Coker resides in Virginia with her parents and two sisters. She has a passion for great books, and has been surrounded by them all her life. Her gift for writing became apparent at the age of eleven, at which time her parents signed her up for a year of lessons with a professional writing coach. Rachel also has a deep love for classical music and old black-and-white movies. When she is not writing or playing the piano, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and friends and serving her Lord and Savior.

My Tribute:

When I met you, I learnt two things:

1. You can get published in your teens

2. Having a mentor who constantly coached you is seriously important in order to make progress.

You have been such a blessing to my life, praising me when I do well, and criticising me when I can do better. I can’t remember having such a fun time writing so many stories, and eagerly waiting for an email to appear! Seeing how you’ve mentored me and many others, along with getting published as a teenager has really inspired me to mentor others just like you did to me. Thank you so much, and may many, many other people be inspired by you and have the same story to share.

Where to buy Rachel’s books

Rachel has written two very lovely historical fiction books.

Some people have cried when they read her first book, Interrupted, and whilst I haven’t read it yet, I managed to nearly cry by reading the blurb!

Like many books, they are available on Amazon as a paperback and an ebook. You can find them Here if you’re British or Here if you’re American.

Where to connect with Rachel

You can email her at or you can visit her blog The Colorful Curator.

Author Tribute: Meg D. Gonzalez

Hello everyone

Today, we are going to look at another amazing author who’s been an inspiration to me this year.

About Meg

Meg D. Gonzalez is a tea-sipping, adventure-seeking, pug-loving kind of girl. She’s crazy for God and wants to share His love with awesome young women around the globe.

She started her first novel at the age of fourteen (it will never see the light of day and that’s best for everyone), but her writing really came alive two years ago after she moved to Mexico. The crazy, wonderful people and culture she encountered inspired the story of Sketchy Tacos.

When she’s not writing, she’s learning to play video games with her husband (she’s horrible), taking hikes in beautiful parks with her pug Pascal, crocheting, and watching way too much TV.

My tribute

Megan, wow. Seriously wow. The number of emails and questions that I’ve asked you from research for writing travel books to advice on platform and what kind of writer to be has been a lot. But you’ve been so gracious to reply and talk to me, and I really appreciate it. Your books opened my eyes to a new genre that I actually love, and your adventures have made me want to go out and explore different places, and even write in the genre of YA travel. Thank you for being such a kind person, and for supporting me throughout this year.

Meg D. Gonzalez’s books

Megan has written two ebooks in the International Adventures Series( with more on the way!)

You can find them Here if you’re British or Here if you’re American.

Here are the sneak peak of the covers:

Don’t they look fun?

I’ve read both of them, and I’ll do a review on them very soon.

Where you can connect with Megan

You can connect with her on her website.

How about you?

What kind of books do you like?

Do you write in any specific genre?

Author Tribute: Nancy Rue

Hello everyone

This week, I’m writing short tributes to my favourite authors who’ve inspired me throughout this year concerning my writing.

I’ll be writing them in chronological order of whom I found first.

Enough talking. Let’s go.

About Nancy

Nancy Rue has written over 100 books for girls, is the editor of the Faithgirlz Bible, and is a popular speaker and radio guest with her expertise in tween and teen issues. She and husband, Jim, have raised a daughter of their own and now live in Tennessee.

My tribute:

Miss Nancy, thank you so much for founding the wonderful community Tween You And Me where I could connect with other Christian girls my age who were similar to me. Your books and blog posts have really helped shape me into who I have become. Now as I’m growing up, I know that somewhere in your books, I can find something for a situation. Your funny, bubbly style inspired me to start writing. When I first started writing, I thought, “If Miss Nancy can make tween and teen girls go on crazy adventures whilst growing in their faith, then so can I.” I can’t say anything more without repeating myself. So, once again, thank you Miss Nancy, and may God continue to bless you in all you do.

Nancy Rue’s books

As it says in her bio, Nancy( or Miss Nancy to many of the girls that she’s helped) has written a shedload of books. SO if you want to read any of her books, you can find them here:

Nancy’s author Amazon profile in Britain

Where you can connect with Nancy

You can connect with her on Tween You And Me ( you have to be a Christian girl from 8-12, but if you’re older, just email her and ask) or you can connect with her on Her website

I believe it is the same format on Amazon in other English speaking countries as well, ( some of her books are even in German and Spanish!)

How about you?

Who are your favourite authors?

Why do you like them so much?

Regal Reads Blog Tour- Author Q&A with Livy Jarmusch

Hello Everyone.
I’m so honoured to have Livy Jarmusch on my blog today as par of her blog tour fo the paperback release of Regal Hearts: Season One. Yes, Season One, which means that more will be on the way soon!
Hi Livy. When did you begin writing with the goal of becoming an author?
I’ve loved to write ever since I was a little girl. I’ve always enjoyed creating stories and using my imagination! When I was in Kindergarten I declared that I wanted to be an author when I grew up…among many, many other things, haha. But I didn’t take my writing very seriously until I became a teen. I did a lot of devotional and non-fiction writing for my magazine, Crown of Beauty, and wrote a devotional called Secrets of Royalty. At that point, I didn’t really envision myself writing fiction, and had put those more “creative” stories on the back-burner. But just last year, God started to stir up my desire to write more fiction, and helped me get past the lie that said it wasn’t powerful enough to make an impact. Being creative for God’s glory can be very powerful, and ever since the Lord started to reveal that to me, I’ve been pursuing writing as more of a career.
What is Regal Hearts about?
Regal Hearts is about four young teens who who couldn’t be more polar opposite from one another! You’ve got a Princess, a bold, iconic Popstar, a sweet, sheltered Amish girl, and a totally average girl from California, who all find themselves connected by a stunning secret from their pasts. Without giving too much away, Regal Hearts is about each young woman discovering her true identity, and embarking on a journey where she must travel that frightening gap between the person she is today, and the person God has truly created her to be.
What inspired Regal Hearts?
As I mentioned during the answer to your first question, back in Kindergarten being an author wasn’t the only thing I dreamed about one day pursuing. I’ve always had huge ambitions to someday produce my own TV show. Personally, I find it challenging to find pure, Godly, uplifting, (and totally entertaining!) media choices. I’ve had many TV show ideas over the years, and Regal Hearts originally came to my mind as exactly that: a show! I decided to scribble down the script, just to keep it in my back-pocket for later. But the story came so fast and furious, and because I envisioned it so clearly through a TV show format, I thought, “Wouldn’t it be fun if people could read this, before it’s a show? What if I released it in a weekly, episodically format?” So, I bundled the first 10 Episodes into “Season One”, and the feedback has been amazing! I love that girls enjoy reading it so much, but I also love the fact that many of them are envisioning it as TV show as well, as they read it, which makes the whole thing extremely fun and unique..
Most ‘Royal Stories’  are either a Historical or a Fantasy novel, but Regal Hearts is contemporary and in a TV series format. Why did you choose to write the way you did?

. Many Christian families have grown disgusted with the inappropriate offerings of “contemporary” media, and tend to gravitate toward “old fashioned” media. You know, those sweet stories in medieval times, as well as American historical fiction, reruns of Little House on the Prairie and black and white TV shows like Leave it To Beaver…sweet, harmless, innocent fun. Personally, I think that’s why the Amish genre is so huge. Christians desire pure media, and it can be a struggle to find anything modern or contemporary that has good values and strong messages of faith. So, I believe there’s a big need for that! Not everyone is drawn to contemporary fiction, or desires to read modern-stories, and that’s totally okay. But for myself, personally, I love the idea of creating content that my someday kids can read and enjoy, without everything having to be historical in order to be clean.

. Who is this book for?
Christian teen girls who are looking to read something fun, adventurous, challenging, exciting, uplifting and faith-inspiring
What do you want readers to get out of your books?
My number-one prayer, is that the Lord will speak through my writing to whoever reads. And because every reader is in a different age, stage, and life-situation, how the Holy Spirit interacts with them as they read ,is completely up to Him! My job is just to do my best to write as He’s leading, and trust Him with the rest. Another huge prayer, is that my words will spark creativity. That other writers will look at these stories and say, “Hey, if Livy can do this, so can I!” Because the truth is…one story isn’t going to change the entire world. We need many writers on the front-lines, penning the stories that God pours into our hearts! We’re all unique, and we all have something to say, so I definitely believe that a single word can spark a firestorm of revelation or fresh determination in a reader to make a change, be a voice, and influence the culture…and to me, that’s what it’s all about!
You’ve written other books as well. What are they, and where can we find them?
My newest novel (and possibly my favorite! Am I allowed to say that?) is called The Coronation. It’s about a modern-day, homeschooling, Royal Family living in the fictitious European nation of Tarsurella. I’ve also written a devotional, Secrets of Royalty, a guide to Godly relationships with guys When Life Feels Like a Taylor Swift Song, and a joint-project with several other authors, Beauty, Boys and Ball Gowns. You can find ’em all on my site, Amazon, or ask about ’em at your local Barnes and Noble.
You seem to have a Royal theme in your books. Why is that the case?
Haha, that’s a great question! Well, first of all, I have a MASSIVE obsession with castles, so that may have a small reason to do with it, haha! Secondly, I’m a really strong believer in knowing your Royal Identity in Christ. The concept of us, as God’s daughters, being His Royal Princesses, can be a really odd, strange concept for us, so I think the more we explore what that truly means (even if it’s in a fun, fictional sense) the more understanding we can gain about who we truly are in Him.
Where can we connect with you?
Well, I’m pretty much all over the internet! Haha, so just choose your favorite Social, and connect there!
